Hearing Aids in Surrey, White Rock, and Vancouver, BC

Hearing loss is different for every person. Two people can have similar hearing test results and still require different hearing aids because their speech understanding, listening environments, ear anatomy, dexterity, technology preferences, and daily routines may not be the same.

Puretone Hearing Clinic provides Audiologist-led hearing aid care in Surrey, White Rock, South Surrey, Vancouver, and surrounding Metro Vancouver communities. Our Registered Audiologists begin with a detailed Audiological Assessment before determining whether Prescription Hearing Aids are appropriate.

Your hearing test results are only one part of the recommendation. We also discuss where communication is most difficult, such as family conversations, restaurants, meetings, phone calls, television, places of worship, or other background-noise environments. This helps your Audiologist recommend hearing aids based on the situations you want to improve rather than choosing technology from a catalogue.

When hearing aids are prescribed, they are programmed according to your hearing profile and verified using Real-Ear Measurement. Real-Ear Measurement checks how much sound the hearing aids are actually delivering inside your ear canal. This provides more accurate information than relying only on the manufacturer’s initial software estimate and allows the fitting to be adjusted more precisely.

As an independent hearing clinic, Puretone is not limited to one hearing aid manufacturer. We work with established brands including Oticon, Phonak, and Starkey and consider the strengths, limitations, styles, connectivity options, and available technology from each manufacturer.

The appropriate choice may depend on speech clarity, background-noise difficulty, rechargeable convenience, Bluetooth connectivity, discreet styling, custom-fit options, dexterity, comfort, and compatibility with your phone or other devices. Brand name alone does not determine whether a hearing aid will work well for you. Clinical selection, accurate programming, Real-Ear Measurement, counselling, and follow-up care all influence the final outcome.

Modern hearing aids may include rechargeable batteries, smartphone connectivity, hands-free calling, television accessories, automatic listening adjustments, and technology designed to support speech understanding in background noise. Not every feature is valuable for every patient. Your Audiologist will explain which features are relevant to your hearing profile and which may add unnecessary complexity or cost.

The goal is not simply to choose the newest hearing aid. It is to prescribe and fit hearing aids that support the conversations, environments, and activities that matter in your daily life.

Hearing Aid Features and Listening Accessories

Modern hearing aids may include rechargeable batteries, directional microphones, automatic listening programs, smartphone apps, Bluetooth connectivity, and technology designed to support speech understanding in background noise. Available features vary by hearing-aid model, technology level, phone compatibility, and the needs identified during your Audiological Assessment.

Additional accessories can help in situations where distance, background noise, or room acoustics remain challenging. Depending on the hearing aids selected, options may include television streamers, remote microphones, table microphones, remote controls, and hands-free calling accessories.

Not every patient needs every feature or accessory. Your Audiologist will explain which options are relevant to your daily routine and confirm compatibility before making a recommendation.
